Okay, so I have had a hard time getting to this due to my excruciating 5-day migraine streak. And while it's not over and still about half as bad as it was, I want to get through this first week.
So you thought Friday was busy…Saturday was pretty crazy as well.
It started out with a meeting early in the morning (which I totally cannot take…early morning I mean) with someone from the company who would be in charge of providing the caretakers for my mom. Me, my mom, and Jeff met with the guy. He provided a lot of much needed info and we decided to go with 4 days a week: 4 hours in the morning, and 2 hours in the evening. This service would provide caretakers to do things that we (mostly I) couldn't help with every day, like helping my mom shower and get dressed, light housekeeping, cooking, I'm sure you can picture the stuff that someone with a stress fracture in her lower back couldn't do. So I got "three days off." Even though that sounded good, it didn't seem to feel like I got any days off at all.
After the meeting was over we had lunch, and then Jeff and I tackled the master bedroom so we could get the queen bed out of there. What an adventure that was. First, we had to get everything that was on the floor surrounding the bed out of the room. So all of that landed in the already messy and crowded garage. Each box and whatever else was in the room, mostly on the floor, was taken out by yours truly. At least I got a nice workout. Then we had to take out the mattress, box spring, frame, and headboard. All that's left in there now are dressers and armoires, etc. We need to go through those and see what we can get rid of, as well as the boxes in the garage, so we can make more room. It's weird though, seeing that room so bare.
That was a pretty long day. I'm not getting super detailed here because I'm sure you don't want to know what we had for lunch and what was in each box, and what all was said at the meeting, etc., hehe. Plus I don't think much interesting happened, it was just very exhausting. My mom's pain state was about the same, no better, no worse. But at least no worse. So that was day two.
