More Tests - Saturday, January 14th - Day 10

This time I went to see my mom at night. When going to visit someone in the hospital at night, it just takes on a whole different feeling for some reason. Today was not one of those uneventful days though. Nothing really HAPPENED, but more results came in.

I asked the nurse (one of the few nice ones) how my mom was coming along. She said that so far my mom's leg wound has been clean, that no new bacteria have been found. However, the doctor was going to do a culture on the wound to look at it more closely. If it wasn't looking better, she might have to have another surgery on it. Her high calcium levels were back to normal though.

The ultrasound my mom had a few days prior revealed she had gallstones. The doctors were going to do another scan in the abdominal area to see if this was of any concern. If so, she might have to have surgery to take them out. Worst case, they would have to take out her gallbladder. So yet another test and another few excruciating days of waiting to find out the results. I dont think removing a gallbladder is THAT high-risk, but ANY surgery has some risk, and my mom wasn't exactly 100 percent. Never a dull moment.
