I just got a call from the hospital and they are discharging my mom earlier now ...the doctor said they can start the process at 5pm or so...pretty much now. I really wish they would keep her another night just for observation. They just moved it up to make themselves look better I'm sure. I'd feel better if they kept her, but what can I do...I'm sure trying to convince them to let her stay would be fruitless. It's all about politics and statistics and looking good b/c of quick turnover times and such, which could also raise re-admit and mortality rates, dont'cha think?
Anyway, so I'll be going in at 6pm to get discharge instructions and then taking her home. I will definitely be staying the night in the (what is for now) "storage" room that will eventually be the guest room. I'm going to be sleeping on an airbed on the floor...my first time. Oh how I can't wait!
I just want to be there because she just got out of surgery yesterday and I KNOW that there will be things she can't do for herself, she's still a bit unsteady on her feet, and I'd feel better.
Alright, better get packing! Talk to ya'll later...maybe sooner if I get bored...taking my laptop. I AM looking foward to spending the night with my mom's kitties though, hehe.
