Archie is Home!

Well, actually he came home yesterday (Tues the 26th), but my immortal enemy, Mr. Migraine (migraines just HAVE to be male I tell you...look at all they put you through, and they mostly plague females!), continued his unwelcomed visit and decided to stay and stay and pound on my head, kick my ass, stick an ice pick through my skull, etc...so I'm finally coherent enough to write this. For now). Anyway...

When he got home yesterday, he was "free" for the first time. I wanted to set some stuff up before I let him out, and he was in the carrier for about 15 minutes, meowing his head off. I'd never heard him meow before, so that was a treat...I just LOVE kitten meows! No, I'm serious. Kitten meows are one of the best sounds ever. So cute!

I let him out of the carrier and he was a little wary, like, "I can just walk out of here?" And then he took no time in investigating a good deal of the house, sticking mainly to my mom's bedroom. He was so cute, trying to climb on things, get under things...just explore. He was so curious! And so little in such a big house. It was weird to see such a tiny kitty walking around there again.

Today I talked to my mom and she said that Archie spent a good deal of his time with my dad yesterday. For some reason, he wanted to sit in my dad's lap. What is it with my dad and cats? Today though, he decided to make the house his own by doing some "rearranging"..."I don't want this picture here, I think I'll knock it off the wall. Oh how hideous this figurine is, I think I'll knock it off of the shelf. Or heck, maybe I'll knock down the whole shelf! And then the desk, hmm...move this paper over here, that pen over there, again, this doesn't belong on the desk at all, I'll just toss it down on the floor." Poor mom.

She said that Archie is making the home his castle already, and that he trots around with his tail high up in the air, demanding, well, mostly food. His favorite spot to sleep right now is on the couch in the living room. I put a warm, furry blanket on one end of the couch before we brought him home, and he took right to it. Yay me! He picked the "bed" I made him. I feel honored.

The main issue at hand right now...his older brother Pepper. He and Pepper are not accepting each other. Right now they're just having, I guess you could call them "confrontations." They each walk down the hallway toward each other, hiss and make other noises I'm sure, get all fluffy (I LOVE that...it's so cute), stare each other down, and then go back the way they came.

Tomorrow we take Fluffy, Spooky, and Spitty in to get spayed/neutered, and they will stay overnight also. I'm sure the vet and his assistants will have a grand ol' time with Spitty. Hopefully it won't be too hard for me to get the three into the carrier, which is very big actually. I'm thinking, put Spitty in first? Last? Which will cause met the least physical repercussions? They'll be staying overnight. That'll be weird for my parents I'm sure.

No pics this time...he was too busy running around and I was too busy having fun watching to take any. Unless anyone wants to see his scared little face peering out of the carrier before going off to meet his reproductive doom on Monday...I did get pics of that.

Alright, back to migraineland. Though I can see and walk and talk and actually be in a room with light now, it remains with me nonetheless, just a TINY reminder that it OWNS me.

Au revior!

Oh I forgot to throw this in! Before leaving the vet, the receptionist was going through all the charges and whatnot, and she didn't mention de-worming. I asked her if the vet found worms, and she said no. Then, when she went back to get Archie, they found a worm. So she had to bring out some FrontLine for the fleas and a tablet for the worms (I guess ingesting the fleas causes the worms, or so she said). She put the FrontLine on him for me right there, but I had the pleasure of giving him the pill once we got home...which he handled very well (pat on the back for both of us). Geez! That was close!
