The Surgery - January 6th - Day 2

When we went back the next day, I believe she was in a different room. Imagine how scary it is to go see your mom in the hosptial and there is no one in her bed. Not a good feeling. Thankfully, they just moved her to a different room. Room #2. Even before that, the room that they were going to put her in intially when she arrived was changed because it was not ready. UGH. So that was Room #1.

Since my mom had gone on walking on the leg she injured before she came into the hospital, that bump was growing larger and getting worse. The doctor told us that she was going to need an operation on it. My mom has never has surgery in her life. They found out it had actually gotten infected and they were going to have to drain the pus out of it (eww). They did the surgery the day after she was admitted. I was told they drained out 2,000ccs (not quite sure what that is). They had to make a cut from her thigh to just above her knee, 2 inches deep. So instead of visiting her, she was having her operation and we waited there until it was over. We were there until about 11:30pm. For us it seems to be like a habit that we get to stay after visiting hours are over, for weve done that quite frequently. However, we were able to go and say goodnight to her. She was extremly out of it and was kind of just mumbling incoherently. This was all so unbelieveable.
